Bartender Resource: Basic Drink And Cocktail Recipes

Cocktail Recipes

Amaretto Sour: Add 60ml Amaretto, 15ml sugar syrup, 30ml lemon juice, egg white to boston. Add ice, shake heavily. Fill rocks glass with ice. Strain mix over ice. Garnish with lemon peel and cherry.

Apple Martini: Add 30ml apple liqueur, 30ml vodka, 15 ml lime juice, 15ml sugar syrup, 30ml cloudy apple juice to boston glass. Add ice, shake and double strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with apple slice.

Bramble: Add 50ml gin, 30ml lemon juice, 15ml sugar syrup to boston. Fill rocks glass with ice. Fill boston with ice, shake and strain into rocks glass. Add more crushed ice to top of drink. Pour 10ml crème de mure over top. Garnish with blueberries or lemon peel.

Brandy Alexander: Add 30ml brandy, 30ml crème de cacao (dark), 30ml fresh cream into boston glass. Add ice, shake. Strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with powdered nutmeg.

Caipirinha: Muddle 4-6 lime chunks with bar spoon of brown sugar. Add 60ml cachaca. Add ice, shake and pour whole mix into rocks glass. Garnish with lime peel.

Caipirioska: Muddle 4-6 lime chunks with bar spoon of brown sugar. Add 60ml cachaca. Add ice, shake and pour whole mix into rocks glass. Garnish with lime peel.

Cosmopolitan: Add 30ml lemon vodka, 30ml triple sec, 45mls cranberry juice and 10ml fresh lime juice to boston. Add ice, shake and double strain into martini glass. Garnish with flamed orange peel.

Cuba Libre: Muddle 4-6 lime chunks in boston. Add 60ml white rum. Add ice, shake lightly and pour into Hi-Ball. Top with cola and stir gently. Garnish with lime wedge on rim.

Dacquiri: Add 60ml white rum, 30ml lime juice, 20 ml sugar syrup to boston. Add ice, shake and strain into martini glass (over crushed ice if rq.). Garnish with lime wheel.

Gimlet: Add 60ml gin, 10ml lime syrup/cordial and 5ml fresh lime juice to boston. Add ice, stir ten times in each direction. Strain into chilled coupette glass. Garnish with lime peel.

Grasshopper: Add 30ml white crème de cacao, 30ml crème de menthe, 30ml cream to boston. Add ice, shake and strain into chilled martini glass. garnish with cherry.

Hemingway Dacquiri: Add 45ml white rum, 15ml maraschino liqueur, 30ml lime juice, 30ml grapefruit juice and 3 bar spoons of maraschino cherry juice to boston. Add ice, shake and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with pink grapefruit peel.

Lemon Drop: Add 60ml lemon infused vodka, 30ml lemon juice, 15ml sugar syrup to boston. Add ice, shake and strain into chilled martini glass.

Long Island Iced Tea: Add 15ml triple sec, 15ml tequila, 15ml vodka, 15ml gin, 15ml white rum to Hi-ball. Add ice and top with cola. Stir and garnish with lemon wedge.

Lychee Martini: Muddle 2-3 lychees in boston. Add 30ml vodka, 30ml lychee liqueur, 20ml lemon juice, 20ml sugar syrup to boston. Add ice, shake and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with peeled lychee.

Margarita: Rim chilled martini glass with salt. Add 30ml tequila, 30ml triple sec, 30ml lemon juice to boston. Add ice, shake and strain into glass.

Martini (Dry): Add ice to boston glass. Pour 5-10ml dry vermouth over ice. Stir 3-5 times, strain away most of the vermouth (not all). Leave ice in boston. Add 60ml gin or vodka. Stir 15-20 times. Strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with olives on skewer or lemon twist.

Martini (Wet): Add ice to boston glass. Add 5-10 ml dry vermouth, 60ml gin or vodka. Stir 15-20 times. Strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with olives on skewer or lemon twist.

Martini (Dirty): Make like dry or wet martini, except: add 5mls olive brine (or to taste) directly after adding gin or vodka. It is possible to have a dry, dirty martini, or a wet, dirty martini.

Manhattan: Add 10mls sweet vermouth, 60mls premium bourbon, 3 dashes bitters to boston. Add ice. Stir 15-20 times. Strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with orange peel and cherry.

Mojito: Add 60ml white rum, 30ml sugar syrup, 30ml fresh lime juice, dash soda water and a handful of slapped mint leaves to Hi-ball. Add ice, stir. Top with soda water. Stir. Garnish with mint sprig.

Moscow Mule: In Hi-ball, add 60ml vodka, 4-6 lime wedges. Add ice and top with ginger beer. Stir. Garnish with lime wedge or ginger slice.

Negroni: Half-fill rocks glass with ice. Add 20ml gin, 20ml Campari, 20ml sweet vermouth. Stir, slowly adding more ice until full. Garnish with orange twist and swizzle stick.

Espresso Martini: Add 30ml vodka, 30ml coffee liqueur, 5 ml sugar syrup, fresh shot of espresso to boston. Add ice, shake and pour into chilled martini glass. Garnish with a 2-4 coffee beans.

Sidecar: Add 40ml Cognac, 20ml triple sec, 20ml lemon juice to boston. Add ice, shake briefly. Double strain into coupette glass. Garnish with flamed orange peel.

Singapore Sling: Add 30ml gin, 15ml cherry brandy, 7.5ml Benedictine, 7.5ml triple sec, dash of grenadine and 60ml pineapple juice to boston. Add ice, shake and pour into Hi-ball. Top with extra pineapple juice. Garnish with pineapple wedge.

Southside: Add 60ml gin, 30ml fresh lime juice, 20ml sugar syrup, 8-10 slapped and torn mint leaves to boston. Add ice, shake and double strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with mint leaf.

Tom Collins: Add 60ml gin, 30ml lemon juice to Hi-ball. Add ice, stir and top with soda water. Garnish with lemon slice and cherry.

Vesper Martini: Add 45ml gin, 15ml vodka, 5ml Lillet blanc to boston. Shake and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with lemon peel.

Other Basic Recipes

Snakebite: Half beer, half cider with a generous dash of grenadine. No ice.

Shandy: Half beer, half lemonade. Sometimes more lemonade than beer. No ice.

Lemon Lime And Bitters: Hi-Ball glass, full of ice, squeeze 3-4 fresh lime wedges, add 3-4 dashes of bitters. Top with lemonade, stir.

Screwdriver: Rocks glass, full of ice, one standard measurement of vodka. Top with orange juice.

Vodka Sunrise: Rocks glass, full of ice, one standard measurement of vodka. Top with orange juice (leaving room at top). Drizzle grenadine down inside of glass.

Black Russian: Rocks glass, full of ice, one standard measurement of vodka, one standard measurement of coffee liqueur. Top with cola.

White Russian: Rocks glass, full of ice, one standard measurement of vodka, one standard measurement of coffee liqueur. Top with milk.

CS Cowboy (shooter): Irish cream liqueur, butterscotch schnapps

B-52 (shooter): Coffee liqueur, Irish cream liqueur, triple sec

Quick F*ck (shooter): Coffee liqueur, Irish cream liqueur, triple sec

Cement Mixer (shooter): Irish cream liqueur, fresh lime juice

Chocolate Cake (shooter): Vodka, hazelnut liqueur

Jäger Bomb (shooter): Jägermeister, Red Bull
